Once Upon a Child: Get Paid, Save Big, and Lower Your Carbon Footprint

Sustainability in the 21st century spans various movements. Recycling, for example, is a movement focused on reprocessing discarded materials into new products to reduce waste and conserve natural resources. Reselling, particularly at the local level, is both a movement and a business model that keeps gently used items in circulation, thereby reducing transportation emissions and packaging waste.

As a well-established brand managed by Winmark Corporation, Once Upon a Child specializes in buying and selling kids’ stuff. We are a prime Burlington destination for family savings; our shelves are stocked with preloved clothing, baby gear, shoes, and toys that are affordable and new-to-you. All the same, you can turn your secondhand kids’ items into cash or trade them for stuff you can use now.

Our store is perfect for families who strive for more affordable, convenient, and sustainable lifestyles. We carry everything from denim to pyjamas and from blankets to books. Our curation process consists of selecting the most appealing items we can transfer to our racks instead of landfills. This budget-friendly approach to shopping not only extends the lifespan of consumer products but also supports local sustainable efforts.

According to Winmark Corporation estimates, Once Upon a Child franchise stores have kept over 800 million items from North American landfills since 1993. You don’t have to book a visit to sell your gently-used baby and child garments, books, DVDs, or toys; bring your items to our store so we can review them and make an offer. We never carry used car seats, recalled products, or any other items that do not comply with safety standards. We buy costumes, outerwear, sleepwear, and teen apparel in sizes ranging from preemie to youth.

Once Upon a Child opens Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. We open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sundays at the Burlington Heights Plaza.
